What if this is an emergency?

IPTS is an outpatient mental health resource and isn’t available for use as a crisis line.

If you need to speak with someone urgently, please call or text 988. If you’re planning to harm yourself, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you're struggling with emotional, mental, or psychological issues that affect your daily life, therapy can be an effective way to address them. Therapy can provide support, guidance, and coping strategies to help you manage your challenges. If you’re unsure, consider reaching out for a consultation to discuss your concerns with a professional.

What should I expect during my first session?

Your first session will typically include an introduction to your therapist, an overview of the therapy process, and a discussion about your current challenges and goals. Your therapist may ask you questions to better understand your needs and create a personalized plan for therapy. It's a safe and confidential space to express yourself.
